Polaris Sportsman 850 ultimate trail has a hard start

I borrowed my cousin's polaris ATV for a week, up until a few days ago, my cousin's polaris ATV would fire right up, no sweat.

But the last couple of times (the first was a real pain), she'll crank for a sec or just about catch, but then nothing.

The second time, just an hour ago, I thought she was gonna leave me hanging, but then she finally turned over.

Once she's running, everything seems cool, smooth idle, no backfires or anything weird.

And if I shut her down and try again right away, she starts up just fine.

My garage ain't heated, and it's getting pretty chilly around here now. she's only six months old, with about 250 miles on the clock (a new Polaris Sportsman 850 ultimate trail)

Help me with this guys, before my cousin found out

Have you hooked it up to a Battery Tender, if not, did you test the battery and is there new fuel in it? Also, check the air filter for any rodent nests or damage. That's all I can think of for now. And if you're changing the spark plugs, tell your cousin to get NGK instead of the Champion ones that the dealer sells

Cold weather can make them a little stubborn if the battery is not at 100%. I'd throw it on a trickle charger, check the terminals for tight/clean contact, and maybe swap in fresh fuel if it's been sitting a bit.

Okay, so I have to ask, what is a little chilly? Unless you're somewhere in the arctic circle that kinds of hard start is not normal. Any other problem apart from this? Checking the battery first it a great start and if that's good, you might want to check the fuel system. Not much else that could cause these kinds of problems.
